I always start wearing my summer clothes too early, when the air is still chill. It’s wishful thinking on my part. I hope I can fool mother nature into thinking it’s time for spring if she sees us all wearing summer clothes. It doesn’t always work.
But while we’re waiting for warmer weather I’ve had some great news to warm me.
It’s been a huge week for me. First off, I’m tickled to announce that my first picture book “Rainbow Sheep” won the EPPIe Award for Best children’s ebook of 2008! EPic is an association of ebook authors that has been recognizing excellence in ebooks for 10 years. I am so thrilled to be honored by my peers in this way.
My second news is that after a year, “the Stone Beach” is finally in print! This 56 page YA novella is great for young fans of the paranormal and reluctant readers. Links to the paper copies are available in the book shop. As soon as I get some, I’ll be offering signed copies too. “The Stone Beach” is the story inspired by my cat, Casey, who’s story appeared in last week’s daily News.
I already bring my picture books to hundreds of young readers at schools and libraries. I look forward to reading to older kids too. If your school or library would like to have an author visit please check out the information in the schoolhouse.
I’ve also received my copies of “A Talent for Quiet,” and signed copies are available in the bookstore. I’m working on a photo contest for kids, so stay tuned for more information on that.
